According to Saudi cabinet Decree No. 216 issued by SASO (Saudi standards, metrology and quality organization), manufacturers and traders are now required to apply Saudi quality mark (SQM) for controlled products through an authorized certification body. Recently, SASO released another announcement, adding a new range of SQM controlled products.

Currently, it is mandatory to obtain the control products of Saudi quality mark as follows:

· Appliances that are operated by gas and its accessories (LPG) (Domestic Cooker, Ovens, Grills, LPG Heaters, Gas rubber hoses)

· Building Materials - Metals Sectors and their Alloys Designed for Construction Work (Steel Sheet, Steel Coil, Structural Steel, Aluminium and Aluminium alloys)

建筑材料：建筑工程用金属构件及其合金（钢板、钢卷、结构钢、铝和铝合金等）

· Building Materials - Hydraulics links and related products. (Cement, Concrete blocks, Gypsum Boards)

建筑材料：液压连接件及相关产品（水泥、混凝土砌块、石膏板等）

·  Building Materials - Ceramic Tiles

建筑材料：瓷砖

· Oxo-Biodegradable Additives

生物可降解材料

· Extension Cords & Electric Sockets

电源延长线和插座（2020年7月起）

· Polyvinyl Chloride Insulated Cables

聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆（2020年7月起）

In addition, any other product can also apply for sqm voluntarily, including food and beverage.

The process of obtaining the use license of Saudi Arabia's quality mark sqm, including a comprehensive evaluation of the products and the quality system used by the manufacturer through the test in the production process, which is valid for 3 years and needs to be audited annually.

After obtaining sqm, it can help the products of enterprises to comply with SASO standards and Saudi technical regulations. When products enter the customs, it is more convenient to obtain more customer satisfaction and trust, and increase business opportunities to enter the Saudi market.
